Map the System Canada

Map the System Canada provides Canadian post-secondary students with the opportunity to deeply explore social and environmental issues.

In addition to participating in Map the System as a participating Canadian institution, Mount Royal University’s Institute for Community Prosperity manages the regional Map the System Canada program in partnership with the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford. Map the System Canada is recognized as a contributing partner to the Map the System Global competition that provides unique learning opportunities for Canadian students.

Map the System Canada is managed by The Institute for Community Prosperity, at Mount Royal University. The Institute works to connect students with social impact learning through applied, community-partnered research, creative knowledge mobilization, and systems focused education.

Join Us in a Partnered Initiative!

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Map the System Canada, and we are seeking a partner who can offer not only anchor sponsorship but also a forward-thinking collaboration that will ensure the continued growth and impact of ICP’s signature program.

Through this partnership, we aim to nurture the next generation of systems thinkers and changemakers. Students will gain enhanced opportunities to strengthen their research skills and explore complex social challenges through a systems-thinking lens. At the same time, our partner’s employees will benefit from access to Map the System learning opportunities and the chance to engage in cross-pollination of ideas with emerging talent.

The goal of Map the System is to encourage a learning first approach to social change – one where people take the time to understand and build upon existing efforts before attempting something new. Ultimately, social change is complicated. Mapping is an effective strategy for gaining insight into the complexities surrounding complex social issues.
